As children in Catholic grade schools we were taught the word “schism.”

Schisms were explained as splits in the Catholic Church which were sad but necessary evolutions occurring because not all Catholics could be expected to remain loyal to Roman Catholic doctrine.

The major schism in Church history occurred about 1050 AD, and brought about the Eastern Orthodox Churches.

When Luther and Henry brought about their schisms the Catholic Church was disappointed, but survived and moved on.

Given the steady decline in the number of “Catholic” Catholic colleges in America and the growing hostility toward Catholic doctrine at so many “Catholic” schools the stage may be set for an American schism.

The original aims and purpose of a Catholic education have been so subverted at so many schools claiming to be Catholic, it’s hard to find at Catholic Catholic college.

This fact begs the question: Why should Catholics support schools whose focus is teaching Catholic doctrine is arcane backwards and even evil?

Simply put: We shouldn’t.

Notre Dame’s invitation to Barack Obama, the most pro death president in history, suggests a de facto schism may already be underway and this could be a good thing.

If “Catholic” schools like Notre Dame don’t want to live Catholicism let them go. Let’s have no more pretenses. Let’s have no more hand wringing alumni moaning as they write another check.

Phony “Catholic” schools are wasting Catholic donations that should instead go to supporting seminaries in countries where the Church is growing.

In our big cities Catholic grammar schools are closing every year because there are no Catholics left to support them. Why should these phony Catholic colleges be exempt from reality? They lick the boots of the secular world let the secular world support them.

If this is a schism so be it.

In more than five dozen schools calling themselves “Catholic colleges” there are active Gay and Lesbian clubs supported with institutional funds. Holding aside any judgment of homosexuals as fellow strugglers and seekers of the way to heaven, one has to ask if these same schools would willingly support a Swindlers Club or a Swingers Club. Each group would be promoting sinful conduct, but we know they never would allow these clubs on campus let alone support them.

As just another Catholic sitting in a pew, I’m sick of these phonies quislings attacking my Church. There is no rule saying the Catholic Church has to maintain schools. The Church wasn’t founded to insure the CYO and Bingo people have a place to meet or “liberation theology” has a home.

In a series of pacts with eventual destruction probably hundreds of millions of our dollars are going to support Catholic grammar schools populated by students who are not Catholics. These schools present a fraudulent picture of whether or not a local school is meeting its mission of teaching Catholic children. In some schools Muslim youngsters fill seats that would go unused if not for these shams. Lets close down more of these places and instead build centers for teaching Catholic doctrine at CCDs across the country.

There is a shortage of priests to work in parishes. Let’s abandon these un-Catholic Catholic colleges and grade schools to the secular world and reassign the priests in them to parish work and their real purpose – saving souls. Most of these men are content to work at schools because they have concluded they like being a priest but not doing the work of a Catholic priest.

In far too many cases these fraudulent “Catholic” schools have become obstacles to the only purpose of the Roman Catholic Church which is showing us the way to salvation. Anything which impedes our journey should be removed. I say: Catholic Catholic schools or no Catholic schools.

Enough has got to finally be enough!

In a two pronged attack on our Welfare system, Obama’s radicals are A) planning to put released vicious Guantanamo Bay terrorists on American streets and force us to support them with money ripped out of our pockets and B) resist efforts to drug test Welfare recipients!

This pile of sludge from Washington is infuriating insulting and un-American!

Putting Gauntanamo’s animals on America’s streets is so wrong, so ridiculous it’s hard to know how to respond. More than sixty of the terrorist bastards these naïve fools have already released have resumed their obsession with killing Americans.

Making us pay to support these lowlifes with money pulled out of our pockets is beyond comprehension. The lame and insane reasoning for relocating them to Iowa instead of Iran is “They may be tortured and killed if they are returned to their own countries!” Stunning isn’t it?

The second burst of insanity from Obama’s radicals is a growing resistance to requiring random drug tests for Welfare recipients.

For sheer arrogance the Obama Administration beats any other in American history.

Eight states, some among the bluest of blue, want to start demanding their Welfare recipients begin submitting to random drug testing. Of course this idea has brought bleats of pain and anguish from liberals who want to distort the purposes of our Welfare assistance programs from temporary helping hands to one of permanent dependence on government.

Because of Obama’s recession many honest Americans, who never dreamed they would be on a public assistance program, find themselves standing on line next to “professional” Welfare moochers looking for drug money.

Drug testing will teach recipients to live sober and responsibly. The resistance shows Obama views Welfare as another opportunity to push Americans onto Massa Barack’s plantation. When is enough enough?

Their empty arguments contradict their “Parens patriae” doctrine approach to controlling everyone’s life. Aren’t these Marxists the same people who want to tell us we can’t smoke even in our own homes? Aren’t they the ones who tell us we can’t eat too much trans fat or place a bet in an office basketball pool?

They claim the right to tell us how to live, when we will live ( with socialized medicine) and how much money we are allowed to have with their confiscatory taxes. Now these phonies resist drug tests for Welfare people – many of whom are drug addicts – when is enough enough?

In a March 18, essay this column pointed to the victory over Big Labor’s Stalinist Card Check scheme predicting it would be the first sign the tide is turning against the lazy greedy thugs that run labor unions. The next sign of eventual victory for the American consumer and American business is here.
In a sure indication that America’s business interests have drawn a line in the sand and will not be bullied by Labor, Fedex, the Memphis based package delivery giant, has made a major announcement. It will consider canceling its plans to purchase up to 30 new Boeing cargo planes if the Democrat controlled Congress passes the union’s card check scheme which would lead to unionization of Fedex’ s workers.
As predicted the power the Democrats were handed last November went directly to their heads and they over reached, The Union/Democrat crime family was sure they would waltz into Congress on Tuesday March 10, and walk out with Card check in their pocket. But a wonderful thing happened. We shouted to Congress, it had better not pass this pile of crap or it would pay the price next year.

Chief Union thug Jimmy Hoffa junior (now there’s a pedigree) smugly asked, “ Since when is the secret ballot a basic tenet of democracy?”

Well Jimmy boy if you didn’t get the lesson about the sacredness of the secret ballot when the Democrats backed down, Fedex is sending you another one.

Fedex didn’t become a mega business by backing down from challenges. Fedex just punked you and your street thug pals.
Fedex executives aren’t afraid of you or your Democrat lackeys. They will not be bullied into unionization which they know will kill their business. You think you know what hardball negotiations are but you don’t: watch and learn.

The evil regime has some cracks and this is a big one. We MUST win this card check fight if we are to save our country. When you have a choice use Fedex and encourage others to do the same. Send Fedex a note of support.

Maryland which is run top to bottom by liberal Democrats is a laughing stock for illegal aliens seeking to defeat our immigration laws. Their contempt for us has gone hi tech. Certain Spanish online chat rooms are bulletin boards for sharing tips for gaming gullible Maryland Motor Vehicle officials into giving them fraudulently obtained diver’s licenses.
Spanish language papers in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D. C. address our “undocumented Hispanic friends” urging them to take advantage of Maryland where lax procedures make it easy to get licenses and non driver IDs without being asked to prove a legal status.
The AP reports that when Maryland’s Motor Vehicle officials did even a basic investigation, they found 68 people claiming the same 800 square foot Baltimore address as their home.
Maryland joins Hawaii New Mexico and Washington in the patsy club. Each Democrat controlled state helps illegals violate our laws. Because state licenses are honored by other states who then unknowingly issue “clean” licenses based on these frauds, these liberal states are stabbing us in the back.

To the surprise of the naïve Maryland Motor Vehicle Department, their policies have overwhelmed them with demands for licenses as laws toughen elsewhere. Maryland “guesses” it’s issued about 6,700 bogus licenses in 2008 alone.
Maryland officials know what’s happening. Upon establishing a toll-free number for driver’s test appointments day one brought one million calls! Maryland which has only has 5.6 million people, reports an increase of 478% in fraud cases in the last five years.

Colorado Arizona and Oklahoma requires additional identification from those seeking to use Maryland licenses for their licenses.

A Maryland Republican’s bill to stop this fraud has failed twice. Let’s hope he can talk sense to the liberals who run his state. All of us have a stake in his success.

However secondary, something good can come from Obama’s recession if it can lead to a stronger movement to squeeze out illegal aliens. The trick will be to lock the door after they go back to Mexico and beyond. That’s our job. We must stay informed, stay engaged and be ready to fight for conservatism at every opportunity.

We know our enemies think nothing of putting their “thumbs on the scales” to warp polling results. Recall 2004 when leftist robots spread out across the nation approaching exit pollsters to lie and make it appear a John Kerry victory was coming.

Zogby himself was sucked in and confidently announced Kerry would win with 315 EC votes. Then the truth hit with a thud.

We can do the same thing by simply telling the truth about Obama.

Like him or not John Zogby is a respected pollster whose results are noted in the highest circles of America’s political discussions.

We can access the power of a Zogby poll and use it to help grease the skids Obama is sitting on. All we need to do is sign on to Zogby’s interactive online poll registration list.

Zogby will add you to the list and “we” get another sane responder to the process. The system does not poll only politics. Most of the polls are meaningless surveys designed to help marketing plans selling us shoes and chewing gum. Nevertheless, the work involved in completing one of these surveys will be worth the effort when the real poll comes your way.

This month’s poll on Obama actually asked “Do you liked Obama personally?” Wouldn’t being able to answer that one in a national poll be worth the effort? Sign up today, and let’s start bending Zogby’s results. This is a real way to fight back. It might not seem like a big deal but it is better than just grumbling around a water cooler.

The Marxist Democrats are slaves to polls. By putting our “thumbs on the scale” we can give cover to Democrats and the few media skunks who want to step back from Obama, but need a little encouragement. We have to try everything we can think of to save our country.

Last June the Supreme Court handed down a ruling in the District of Columbia v. Heller case which was supposed to be a victory for the preservation of our rights under the Second Amendment, but was it?

Nine months later the value of Heller as a benchmark gun rights case is seriously in doubt. Although it unequivocally reaffirmed the rights of honest citizens to keep and bear arms, liberal courts and cities across the country have generally ignored or attacked the decision. Adam Winkler, a law professor at UCLA has commented, “To date, the federal courts have not invalidated a single gun control law on the basis of the Second Amendment since Heller.”

“My own bet,” said Sanford Levinson, a law professor at the University of Texas, “is that Heller will more likely than not turn out to be of no significance to anyone but constitutional theorists.”

Chicago’s Mayor Richard Daley rejected the very idea that Heller is binding on his city. Daly maintains that since Chicago is not under federal control, Heller means nothing to him or his city.

Liberals strike back

In reaction to Heller, Chicago Illinois Representative Bobby Rush has re-introduced federal legislation requiring universal registration of firearms.

On Dec. 16, 2008 the Democrat City Council of D.C. buoyed by Obama’s victory, passed new regulations on private gun ownership. The new law requires extensive and costly firearms training to receive or renew gun licenses.

D.C. has directly flaunted sections of Heller so much so that on July 29, just a month after his victory, Heller was forced to go back into court and sue again.

This is the liberal way: if they win, they win. If they lose, they just act as if they won and make us go back into court just to preserve our rights.

We have got to take this country back and re-establish the rule of law. I am tried of liberal weasels picking which laws and legal decisions they want to follow and which they will use their pet worms in the legislatures and courts to subvert. This has to stop here and now.

An explosive new Rasmussen report screams, “America wants Tim Geithner dumped!”

Washington insiders both Democrats and Republicans (including McCain of course) love him, but we want him gone. The disconnect between Washington and real America on Geithner is startlingly large.

The gang on Capital Hill might be fooled or afraid to say otherwise, but average Americans aren’t. The latest telephone survey tells a very different story. Only 12% of taxpaying Americans have a favorable opinion of Geithner and only 11% said his job performance so far is good or excellent.

Tax cheat Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was appointed without any genuine qualifications. Now only Obama’s incompetence overshadows his own bungling ineptitude.

His “deer in the headlights” reaction to Barack Obama’s recession has exposed him as a fraud. When his tax cheating and employing an illegal alien is added to his inability to improve things, Main Street doesn’t like him and wants him gone.

Rasmussen reports the chasm between Washington and Main Street is huge and irreparable. The Washington crowd thinks Geithner is doing a fine job. More than 3 of 4 have a favorable opinion of him with two thirds saying he is doing a good or excellent job handling Obama’s recession. Three quarters of Americans think otherwise.

Among all respondents, his favorable/unfavorable numbers are sharply different at 24/44, but his “good or excellent” versus “poor” ratings are still worse.

On the question of whether Geithner’s work could be described as POOR, 53% of real Americans tagged Tax Cheat Tim with that rating and NOT A SINGLE politician used it.

Whether Geithner will resign or be fired is now a question of how quickly Obama throws him under the bus, which may be soon. If Obama threw his White grandmother between the Greyhound’s wheels, Geithner should keep his bags packed.

Because of Geithner April 15 will bring chaos as large numbers of Americans deliberately fail to pay their Federal income taxes claiming the “Geithner – Rangel treatment” exemption. How large this problem becomes is anyone’s guess; that it will happen is a sure bet.

On his way to Washington to become Obama’s Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan had to step over the bodies Chicago school children he was sworn to educate and keep safe.
With incompetence as the hallmark of the Obama Administration, it’s no surprise the Chicago public school system left behind by Arne Duncan is a dangerous and decided failure producing few success stories and questionable academic progress.
In a field of tax cheats, fakers and pretenders, Arne Duncan may be the worst of Obama’s gang of Chicago incompetents because of his failure to provide a safe environment for the children under his care.
The Chicago Tribune reports 28 children have been killed in Chicago public schools already this school year. This is larger than last year’s total in spite of there being three months left in the school year.
As an educator Duncan is a breathtaking failure. Under his “leadership” Chicago’s public schools failed to meet federal No Child Left Behind standard five years in a row. His Special Education District failed to adequately educate 80% of its students.

Cooked books?
Almost 60% of Duncan’s students’ ACT college entrance exam scores averaged less than 17 points or half of the 36 point minimum required for consideration for college entry. The average Chicago public high school student misses seven weeks of school and only ten percent pass Illinois State standardized academic tests.
Given the graduation rate of 52% (national 72%) it looks like Chef Duncan cooked his books. Otherwise how can more than half of his students graduate but not be educated enough to come near a satisfactory ACT score?
Arne Duncan left Chicago a violent dangerous and underperforming school system. His main qualification is a jump shot but not much more. He is another of Obama’s big name empty suit appointees.
How can Duncan who couldn’t run a single school system now run the nation’s schools? He can’t but that never means anything to Obama. He fills his slots with hacks and phonies who have no business in the jobs he gives them. The only solid appointments he has made have been holdovers from the Bush Administration.

Here comes Uniting American Families Act; there goes Don’t ask, don’t tell and barring Gays from demanding employment at Faith Based intuitions.

Barack Obama has notified the United Nations America will reverse a Bush decision and support a French proposal to decriminalize homosexual conduct. Until now America had been the only western country to hold this position and for good reason.

This move is a backdoor way to pave the way for the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA). UAFA will allow gay Americans to bring their alien sex partners in to our country as if they were married couples.

Commenting on his bill, Jerrold Nadler said, “… Any committed couple deserves the potential to form a life and a family together – this is a basic human right – and whether that couple is gay or straight should be irrelevant…..”

There are several longstanding bars to entry into America by those intending to stay and eventually apply for legal citizenship.

At least 70 U.N. member countries have laws against homosexual conduct and deem mere homosexuality a crime. Of the 192 countries in the Tower of Babel on 42nd Street, 122 have not signed on, but that “little obstacle” could be brushed aside by the large westernized countries.

One immediate result of this change would be a blurring of the regulations surrounding a potential immigrant’s prior conviction for crimes of moral turpitude.

If this United Nations wish becomes a law binding on America, Homeland Security would be obliged to overlook these convictions and allow these migrations. This would establish legal precedence to take down our military’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

It would then roll down the legal hill to wipe away state laws allowing private employers such as Faith based organizations and private landlords to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation.

This resolution elevates homosexual conduct to parity with skin color, ethnic background and religious belief. This will not be the end of this move toward Obama’s intention to establish a sense of “interchangeability” between gay America and genuine America. Let’s keep working to see that Obama doesn’t succeed in this assault on our America.

The tide might be turning in our favor. We have stopped Card Check!

On the same day Card Check failed, James Hoffa, president of the perpetually scandal ridden Teamsters Union, was so sure it would sail through and become law, he smugly asked, “Since when is the secret ballot a basic tenet of democracy?”

We answered this thug’s snarky question loud and clear, “Since July 4, 1776 Mister Hoffa.”

Last week America won a major victory in our battle against Obama’s socialism. By keeping up the pressure we beat Card Check. Whether the pimps in the media want to credit us or not: WE WON.

When Card Check was introduced last Tuesday it failed and it was quickly hidden away in both Congressional and Senate committees.
Big labor ordered its Democrat footstools to ram through a new procedure for unionizing currently non-union businesses. Called the Employee free Choice Act, but commonly called “Card Check” this scheme would have allowed unions to use open non secret ballots to intimidate workers into voting to unionize their workplace.

So far the Marxist Democrats have had things their way, but our push back is getting some traction.

The number of cosponsors for Card Check tells the story. Although 220 in the House and 39 in the Senate are impressive numbers, in this instance they were the same as a final vote tally for this scheme. The cosponsors represented only those prepared to vote yes. The other Democrats were saying they were afraid to support it. We did that! Ordinarily EVERY Democrat should have jumped to become a co-sponsor, but they didn’t. You and I scared them.

The Democrats now have good reason to be scared. Rasmussen’s new congressional generic poll has the GOP up over Democrats for the first time in a long time.

We may be seeing the start of a turn around faster than anyone could have predicted.
