Arlen Specter’s switch to Democrat is a major jump toward gray stilted Swedish socialism. The irony is the Swedes are trying to get out of their nightmare just as we are closing our eyes and running toward communal living.

Friday Sweden closed its New York City consulate. They ran out of money. It was important to them to save about $5 million, the equivalent of a household saving a dollar on a gallon of milk.

We have to fight like hell to keep Obama from forcing socialism on us. Here’s some points from a new Heritage Foundation report.

Sweden has some of the lowest scores in fiscal freedom in the world.

Sweden’s 57% tax rate is THE highest tax rate in the world.

* Government spending is more than half of its GDP.

*In 1970 Sweden was the world’s third richest country. Now it is number 18.

* Swedes have less average personal disposable income than Western Europeans Americans or Canadians.

* The government pays all workers 80% of their salary when they are out sick. At any given time 10% of workers are out sick. Surveys say 6 of 10 are faking. This kills productivity and initiative.

In 1970 to make “everything free” Sweden started with an 87% tax rate.
Since then she has steadily backed away from this insane rate.

The Swedes discovered almost immediately that socialism works only until the government runs out of other people’s money to give away.

Specter’s switch is a serious blow to our freedom.

If we don’t fight with every ounce of strength and resolve we can muster we will find ourselves wearing Moa jackets and standing in line for hours to get our “free government benefits.”

The Swedes went socialist in 1970, so they give us an idea of about how long a Socialist State Ponzi scheme can appear to work if you don’t kill millions of your people Soviet style. Fight for our freedoms people because if we lose them we won’t soon get them back.

This is a trap we have to avoid.
