Now they are coming for the fishermen!!! The National Oceanographic Association has decreed that it and it alone, must protect the Gulf Snapper. The NOAA is the real poacher in this outrage. It has stepped loudly on states’ rights with the imprimatur of a round heeled Supreme Court.

All five Gulf states are affected and none is unhappier than is Florida, particularly the “Luckiest Fishing Village in the World”, Destin. Destin was in the midst of its fishing rodeo, an event it has held for decades. Fishermen come from all over the country and create an estimated 350 million dollars in economic activity. Not so lucky this year, as the fishing is curtailed in the extreme, courtesy of the NOAA. One hopes the disappointed fishermen focus their displeasure on the Federal Government.
Alaskans are lectured about polar bears by pukes in DC as are ranchers about the requirement to release wolves into their “natural habitat”, where they feast on cattle. Gulf States are told their findings on fish populations are interesting but of no consequence. The Feds rule all; another example of the Federal Government crushing all in its path.

The power to visit onerous and often stupid regulations on states stems from the Commerce Clause in our Constitution: The clause states that the United States Congress has the power to regulate commerce with foreign nations, among the states, and with the Native American tribes. Clearly the intent of the Commerce Clause was to arbitrate beefs AMONG the states, not crush states’ inherent rights.

These guidelines were of no interest to the Supremes when they handed the Congress the right to regulate off shore fishing. Insofar as Congresspersons are busy fundraising or selling indulgences, the NOAA was created and turned loose on the public and became another benevolent Federal agency to help us manage our lives.
Its cousin, the ATF staged the Waco siege to avoid irrelevance and concomitant funding cuts. NASA now pimps for the global warming pied pipers.

The Interstate Commerce Commission was created to protect the public from the railroads. It now protects the railroads from the public.

The NOAA is no different and needed a cause. Republican leaning Gulf states were next up. Generations of fishing families are about to be destroyed but wait, the Feds offered to retrain them. They should be grateful!!!!

So you don’t care because you’re not a fisherman and live in Cleveland? Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who wrote the quote above, was not a Jew either. He was silent but murdered none the less by order of the German government in 1945. Get the point????

On October 16, the results of a Harris Interactive poll on Barack Obama were quietly posted. Because it was bad news for him, it was released on a Friday afternoon so it could be buried on Saturday and you would miss it.

The report started with some blunt language, “President Obama may have won the Nobel Peace Prize, but unfortunately, he is not winning accolades from the American public as his job approval rating continues its downward slide.”

Numbers tell the story

Americans have run out of good will toward Obama. We don’t like what we see in him.

In September we were evenly split (49/51 against him), but in October 2293 adult respondents expressed a clear 45/55 bias against Obama.

Of course Democrats are more supportive than Republicans by 77/14%, but Independents have soured on Obama and side against him 40/60.

Obama has lost the youngest Americans (18 to 32). The group which supported him 66/34 has all but abandoned their hero and now barely supports him 51/49.

Seniors whose support for Obama was unenthusiastic last November at 47% are now fully convinced he’s not the man they want running our country. Seniors are against Obama 39/61%.

Congress slipping toward 2006 and 2008 approve/disapprove numbers

A very sobering 84% of Americans see the job performance of the Democrat controlled Congress negatively.

Right track/wrong track as viewed by average Americans falling as well

Harris reported the number of Americans who think our country is on the wrong track has continued moving downward. In August those saying “Right track” was 46%. In September the same survey found 42% thought we are on the “Right Track” but by October that group had fallen to just 39%.

While its findings were higher, The Wall Street Journal’s “Right/Wrong Track” at 36/52 isn’t much different.

Just when you want to believe people “get it”

The respondents to the Wall Street Journal/NBS News Poll still believe at a rate of 63/22% that the problems we face are the fault of George Bush. Clearly we have work to do in convincing our fellow citizens of the truth. Realities like this need to be explained head on if we are to finally drive a stake through the heart the Marxist plans Barack Obama Nancy Pelsoi and Harry Reid have for our future.

Get educated. Learn the facts and seek out opportunities to engage those who don’t understand the dangers these people pose to our freedoms. Blaming George Bush at this point is asinine and doesn’t stand the smell test.

The bill has come due

Our nation’s future is on the line. The bill for our freedoms has come due. It was paid eight generations ago by our forefathers, but now it has come due again. A little sacrifice and hardship now can save our country.

We have been abandoned by the political leadership of the Republican Party and the Democrats have become the enemies of freedom. If we don’t save America no one will.

A Texas emergency room doctor has a message for the rest of the country: illegal aliens are destroying the medical care delivery system in his part of south Texas.

Dr. Antonio Falcon cited diseases and conditions such as tuberculosis diabetes obesity and swine flu, brought by illegals, as major threats to America’s border hospitals because illegals refuse to pay for medical care.

Dr. Falcon says the problem started with the 1986 Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), the federal law compelling hospitals to treat anyone in medical emergencies without regard to the patient’s ability to pay.

Falcon started his practice in 1980 and has seen the terrible results of EMTALA. In the early 1980’s Mexicans were usually among the best paying patients in border hospitals because the system required up front payments. Today the same population offers only smiles and empty palms in return for their care. Now the influx of those willing to sneak into America to steal medical services is taking its toll.

Dangerous diseases

If illegals aren’t specifically excluded from any health care legislation Dr. Falcon foresees the effect on border hospitals being the same as forcing them to continue operating with 35% funding cuts.

The problems involved in protecting Americans from the onslaught of illegals goes well beyond merely providing emergency room care and obstetrics. One of the consistently under reported stories about illegals is the shocking array of exotic and deadly diseases they bring with them.

Among the worst is Chagas Disease a South and Central American parasitic illness that causes heart failure in million of people. Unknown here ten years ago, Chagas is now found in 23 states.

Incredibly Illegals have reintroduced Leprosy in America and there are now 7000 lepers in our country.

Open borders plus free healthcare equals dead hospitals

Open borders plus free healthcare for illegal aliens will bring about the death of hospitals and epidemics of serious diseases that will kill maybe millions of Americans.

Tuberculosis attacks the weakest among any population. That includes already sickly illegal children who will carry it from their homes to our schools and on to our homes through our own children making them prime targets.

During the course of a bout with Tuberculosis an infected person will transmit it to as many as 50 people before being identified as a carrier.

Free healthcare without having to hide

Nevertheless, Tuberculosis and Chagas are just two diseases illegal aliens bring with them. If we don’t slam the doors now, and take away the lure of free healthcare we will see a huge stampede across our borders and we will lose our sovereignty. Be assured that Mexico and every other Central and South American country plus Cuba and other poor countries will send their sickest and weakest people here and expect free prioritized treatment. Just look at how the open bordered European Union is sagging under the weight of sick illegal aliens from Africa and you’ll get the picture of post Obamacare America.

This should be a lead story in the debate over whether to have government run healthcare or not, but of course it continues to be smothered.

Yesterday was the 45th anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s “A time for Choosing” speech made in support of Barry Goldwater. The power of the speech launched Mr. Reagan’s political career. The wisdom and power of his words have stood the time of time. Here are some selected quotes.

Reagan warned that trading freedom for security was a downward course saying, “You and I are told increasingly we have to choose between a left orright. Well I’d like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There’s only an up or down: man’s old — old-aged dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order, or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. And regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would trade our freedom for security have embarked on this downward course.”

“We’re at war with the most dangerous enemy that has ever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars, and it’s been said if we lose that war, and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening. Well I think it’s time we ask ourselves if we still know the freedoms that were intended for us by the Founding Fathers.”

“And this idea that government is beholden to the people, that it has no other source of power except the sovereign people, is still the newest and the most unique idea in all the long history of man’s relation to man.”

Reagan specifically warned of the dangers of taxes that were too high reminding us that bloated governments engorged with our tax money and deficit spending destroys prosperity.

To those who do not want to fight for our freedoms because they wanted “peace” he asked, “Do they mean peace, or do they mean we just want to be left in peace? There can be no real peace while one American is dying some place in the world for the rest of us.”

Using this example he reminded us of the precious and fragile nature of our freedoms: Mr. Reagan said, “Not too long ago two friends of mine were talking to a Cuban refugee, a businessman who had escaped from Castro, and in the midst of his story one of my friends turned to the other and said, “We don’t know how lucky we are.” And the Cuban stopped and said, “How lucky you are! I had someplace to escape to.” In that sentence he told us the entire story. If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to.”

Remember these wise and inspirational words. Keep them near to your heart and never pass up a chance to do something big or small to fight those who would enslave us and our country.

If you plan on watching and hoping for the best, then you had better start planning to be a slave.

The Tenth Amendment showdown is coming. A Supreme Court test case on the power of the Tenth Amendment is coming.

There are several possibilities, but here’s my list.

Homeland Security has withdrawn the authority to round up illegals from Maricopa Arizona County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Arpaio won’t back down rightly claiming he works for Maricopa County not the federal government.

Gun control laws

When the USSC invalidated the handgun laws of the District of Columbia, Chicago passed an even more restrictive law and dared Second Amendment supporters to challenge it, and the NRA has.

When Chicago loses it will create a power vacuum in states. Conservative states’ governments won’t stand for the new restrictive laws certain to be passed by their liberal controlled cities like Dallas, Houston, New Orleans in response to Chicago’s defeat. Those laws will be supported by Obama’s Justice Department and will bring about a 10th Amendment test case on gun control laws.

Overreaching EPA

The Federal EPA is choking off water from the farms in California’s San Joaquin Valley to save a fish. California might not bring a 10th Amendment case to fight this outrage, but it’s very possible the state of Florida will defeat the federal government’s edict to stop sport fishing in the Gulf of Mexico by using the 10th Amendment.

Obama’s sellout to the UN on “Climate change”

Kerry and Boxer will roll approval of a treaty with the UN to force America to “pay” for our supposed “climate change crimes against humanity” into a new Cap and Trade package in an effort to sneak it into law. A 10th Amendment case against this from Texas and/or other states wouldn’t be surprising.

When the results of this survey are in I’ll revisit this question. The Tenth Amendment is our magic Jedi sword handed down to us by our wise Founding Fathers. Specifically James Madison, the main author of the Bill of Rights, knew there would come a time like this when the federal government would over reach and grow large enough to choke off the rights of the individual states. Madison understood the Federal Government is a creation of the sates NOT the other way around so he crafted the Tenth Amendment to give us a way to fight back..

Rasmussen tells us only three of eight rank and file Republicans support the job Washington establishment Republicans are doing on their behalf.

Michael Steele is a fraud who is way over his head and now with the National Republican Congressional Committee’s endorsement of Dede Scozzafava Chairman Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX) has shown he too is unqualified for his position.

The NRCC has self destructed with its endorsement of New York Assemblywoman Scozzafava as the GOP candidate in next month’s special election to fill John McHugh’s 23ard congressional seat in upstate New York.

Sessions is just plain wrong about what backing Scozzafava says about our Republican message. He believes holding this seat with an “ANYBODY” is better than losing with a principled conservative. He went along with the local GOP Chairmen and joined their suicide pact to virtually deliver this seat to a Democrat nobody ever heard of. Clearly neither the NRCC nor the RNC understand real conservatism.

Obstinate Stupid and Destructive

In spite of being shown how wrong the local Chairmen were Sessions has gone out of his way to be obstinate stupid and destructive. The NRCC is using our money to attack the Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman and by doing so Sessions is proving he and the NRCC are out of touch with reality.

Sessions is running commercials attacking Doug Hoffman’s conservative credentials as “deceptive smoke-and-mirrors campaign.”

The NRCC’s candidate is endorsed by the Daily Kos and Sessions has the nerve to attack Hoffman’s conservative bon fides!

This is totally upside down: the NRCC and local GOP chairmen are backing a woman who is running on the Working Families Party line, the political arm of ACORN! Hoffman stands with us; she stands against us on every issue.

She is another Olympia Snowe. Hoffman will be a solid conservative.

Let’s hope Doug Hoffman will take the GOP nomination in 2010 so we can take back the seat. He can use a Wilson Pakula petition, as the Republican Party Chairmen should have given him, and legally run on the Republican line while remaining a member of the Conservative Party.

If the Republican party won’t give its nomination to Hoffman he might also carry out an “Opportunity to Ballot” maneuver which is more or less a hostile take over of a ballot line. This is a procedure used regularly in New York State although usually it is a Republican moving to forcibly take the Conservative line.

I am personally sick and tired of people like Sessions and Steele and Newt Gingrich who endorsed the Working Families Party candidate. I won’t give them a penny. I’ll make my contributions directly to real conservative candidates.

The Democrat controlled media’s lying again. They’re relying on your not being able to get the truth about Obama’s failed administration.

The AP reports the Obama Administration has given us a 26 year record breaking unemployment rate of 9.7%. Counting those who are under employed furloughed and involuntarily working part time, the effective under employed/ unemployed rate is now 16.8 percent the highest rate since such numbers started to be calculated.

What we were also told was this bold faced lie:

“The recession has eliminated a net total of 6.9 million jobs since it began in December 2007. There are now 14.9 million Americans unemployed.

Here’s what a recession really is

The commonly accepted definition of a recession as expressed by The National Bureau of Economic Research, a private economic think tank firm is as follows: “Two consecutive quarters of decline in real GDP…”

Lies just lies

In the third quarter of 2007 America’s GDP grew by 2.2 percent and in the fourth quarter of 2007 the GDP actually increased by .06 percent.

In the 1st quarter of 2008 our GDP grew by .06 percent.

In the second quarter of 2008 our GDP grew by 1.9 percent.

In the 3rd quarter of 2008 our GDP fell by .03% and in the 4th quarter of 2008 after Barack Obama was elected, our GDP fell 6.2 percent.

Obama settles in

The GDP fell in the 1st quarter of 2009 by 5.2 percent. For the second quarter it fell again 1 percent.

The facts are there and they are clear. Yes the recession started in the 3rd quarter of 2008, but that .03% drop was mild despite the collapse of Fanny and Freddy Mac and the Democrat generated skyrocketing gasoline prices. This is Obama’s recession and the media is lying about it AGAIN.

The lesson is clear and simple: the Democrat controlled media lies to protect socialist Democrats. Get your information from the internet and double check what you read. Believe nothing from the mainstream media unless it has been verified from multiple sources.

By all means get educated and learn the truth. Our nation depends on each of us who love freedom to step up and fight.

The concept of fairness to all is an endless slogan in Indonesia. The Government’s aim is to make sure the rich submissively share their wealth while the poor are entitled to take it. In so doing, they will make sure that the Government is rich so then the sharing of wealth is in their control. The Government will then declare their nobility in their entitlement programs to ensure the people do not detect this method as deceitful and manipulative. Seriously, I never thought I would say this, but America has become the country I left behind: Indonesia. How could that be?

Americans must think the Indonesian Government way of managing a nation was the right approach. No, I am not crazy for saying this; did not this country elect the most Socialist man to be its President: Barack Obama?

Americans must believe that they would benefit from Socialism, otherwise why would they put their country backwards? Or are these people that naïve not to realize what they were signing up for? No, it is the first reason. These Americans either did not play a significant role in bringing prosperity to the country and wanted a piece of it anyway, or made so much wealth for themselves and wanted to keep it all. Socialism fills their purposes.

Socialism needs two classes of people to thrive: the lazy and the greedy. The system only needs one enabler: Government. It then entices the lazy with its Welfare and protects the greedy with its Regulations. Here’s how American Socialism is at its best: so then no lazy image is painted, their welfare is created through ACORN and SEIU alike. So then the greedy image is not fancied, their regulations are made through “Social Security” and the next enchilada “Health Care Reform”; none of these Laws can easily be repealed, thus discouraging people to retaliate.

Through this Socialism, America has become a Big Government Nation. Hasn’t Washington DC now decided how taxes should be accumulated and allocated? What happen to States rights?

Well, no wonder, Barack Obama was able to use his “magic” and his charm through to election; Socialism had taken its shaped well before he showed up. It is up to true Americans to regain their country: I can’t be the only one with that motivation.

Democrat Pete Stark, who told a town hall questioner “I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg, it wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine” has proposed a new bill to punish Red States for daring to prohibit adoptions by gays.

Not surprisingly, Stark’s bill, “Every Child Deserves a Family Act” is built on a lie.

The bill would withhold federal welfare funding from any state the Gay lobby doesn’t like.

Its immediate targets are Utah, Nebraska Florida, Arkansas, and Mississippi.

Where did Stark’s data come from?

Stark’s bill says, “A report from the Evan B. Donaldson Institute found that an additional 2,000,000 gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals are interested in adoption.”

The Evan B. Donaldson Institute’s Director of External Relations is Laura James.
Her biography brags she’s “Development Director for GLSEN, the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network, a national organization working to create safe schools for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students, staff, and families..”
As the “Director of External Relations” it’s quite probable Ms. James had a lot to do with the preparation of the Institute’s report which was dutifully parroted in Stark’s bill.

Simple math proves the lie

The 2000 Census counted 281.4 million Americans and 1.4 million domestically adopted children meaning just .05% of Americans adopted a child.

The commonly accepted percentage of homosexuals in America is 1 to 3%. Even using 3% means there are nine million homosexuals in our country. Simple “off the top of your head” calculation tells us saying 2 million “gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals are interested in adoption” is a lie. That would mean fully 22% of Gays are interested in adopting children.

Using Stark’s lie means homosexuals want to adopt at a rate roughly 2200% HIGHER than the general population.

Simple calculation tells us the truth.

Stealing our liberty

All this outrage needs is a little light. Shinning the light of truth on this bill will make this pile manure dry up and fade away so we have to keep an eye on it.

It will do nothing to appreciably increase gay adoptions, but it opens the door to more control of our lives by nameless faceless Washington bureaucrats.

Gays are generally a totally self centered group interested in a hedonistic lifestyle that rarely includes raising children or anything resembling a traditional family. Of course there are exceptions, but in numbers like this? Hardly.

This is just one more trick to subjugate America and drown us in socialism. So far this bill has been too much for the Democrats to handle, but make no mistake as soon as they think they can get this by us they will try.

Lies like this are common when the Left wants to fool people. They never trust their own ideas to support themselves.

If you plunged your family into hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt to send your son or daughter to Notre Dame thinking your hard earned money would get your child a truly Catholic education this will disappoint and infuriate you.

If the knot in your stomach from Barack Obama’s selection as last spring’s commencement speaker is just now beginning to loosen up hang on to your blood pressure medicine here comes another anti Catholic stunt from Father John Jenkins the school’s president.
Notre Dame, the University of Our Lady mind you, has used student organization funds to finance a trip for five of its students to Washington DC for a rally supporting Gay “marriage” a practice which directly violates the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Apparently Father Jenkins feels he hasn’t made his hatred for the teachings of the Catholic Church clear enough. Having a commencement speaker who supports allowing miracle abortion surviving infants to die in a broom closet because abortion is more sacred to him than life, wasn’t sick and perverted enough for Father Jenkins.

Sticking his finger in your eye and laughing

The Obama stunt should have signaled Notre Dame’s surrender of any claim to being a Catholic university. The little school in South Bend is now no more Catholic than U. Wisconsin at Madison.

Father Jenkins must be starting his own religion. He is certainly close to being recognized as the head of a “Jenkinsist” Catholic church that caters to the secular world while making fools of those who support his school.

Father Patrick J. Reilly, President of the Cardinal Newman Society challenged this grotesque move with a penetrating question, “What university seeking to reassure families of its Catholic identity would pay for students to attack the family and oppose Catholic teachings on marriage?”

Even the so-called “Progressives” know better

Members of Notre Dame’s Progressive Student Alliance (PSA) applied to the Student Activities Office for the necessary funding for the trip. The PSA president was shocked that the “pro forma” request was approved and observed, “The fact that we were University-approved was surprising but it was a wonderful surprise. The University hasn’t always been entirely receptive in the past.” Apparently even the PSA president recognized this was a violation of Roman Catholic teaching and was “surprised” it was approved. Too bad Father Jenkins didn’t feel the same way.

Is Father Jenkins starting his own religion, a sort of “roll- your-own” Catholicism that Obama’s thugs will make into the face of the American Catholic Church?
