The deadline for returning US Census forms quietly came and went last Friday with about a 68% response. This is probably good news because the kind of Americans whose influence on the census count does us all the most good are more likely to have responded.

Maybe, just maybe, the illegal aliens didn’t respond because their leaders told them to avoid the process. We should have no complaints about that.

On May 1 census workers will be sent out to knock on doors and count people who didn’t respond. This is where the major cheating will come in.

Although the final numbers won’t be posted for a few weeks, the mail participation rate appears to be about 68% which is in line with the last census. Nevertheless, the real opportunities for Democrats to cheat on the final numbers will come from the door to door canvassing. The unprecedented publicity campaign asking, no begging, people to respond may ultimately serve as the smokescreen the Democrats will need to jack up the numbers where they need to, but time will tell.

The good news

Largely White (90%) Wisconsin had the highest response rate at 78%. Given that 95% of Blacks and 66% of Hispanics are automatic Democrat voters even though these groups are very small in the state Wisconsin is good news. Other high responding states were Minnesota (76%) and Iowa (75%) both Blue states. But New Mexico at 59% and Louisiana at 60% were at the bottom.

Big cities with lots of Democrats had lower rates of response than other cities.
Except Miami Newark and New York, which are already lost to liberalism anyway, Hispanics seem to have largely boycotted the process in many key areas.
Democrat cities like Detroit will be fertile grounds for stealing numbers by counting ghosts.

At this time only vigilance can help

What we can do about the cheating isn’t clear, but staying on this issue will mostly likely help keep the cheating down. Either way we can expect some major shifts of population from Blue states to Red state and that will be all good.

Maybe they should start filming “Survivor Detroit”

If the popular reality show “Survivor” was shot in Detroit it might be hard to tell the difference between the Motor City and some of the wild locations the show has visited over the years.

Survivor pits two teams against each other and the elements. The “comforts of home” are missing, and contestants have to make their own shelter and find food.

Given the differences between civilization and Detroit, there seems to be a good argument for shooting a “Survivor Detroit” in the wilds of Motown.

Why not? The streets of the city are filled with the types of dangers that would make watching a group of Americans from other parts of the country struggle to survive very interesting.

Contestants could to use native guides to steer them away from neighborhoods where the street gangs rule and the police avoid. They could show them the best abandoned houses and which filthy lots yield the most edible vegetables.

How to steal gas and electric: Detroit’s new product

Years of living under the oppressive rule of the local criminal Democrats have taught Detroiters a new skill to teach the players: how to steal electricity and gas for cooking and heating while squatting in an abandoned home.

The latest story from the wilds of Detroit tells of thousands of the last remaining households stealing both electricity and natural gas.

The local gas and power company reports that many of Detroit’s remaining habitable dwellings are being run on illegal and larcenous connections for gas and electricity. A report from the power company tells of a 12 apartment building in which every single electric meter has been defeated.

Of course none of the utility thieves are responsible for their own conduct. According to “advocates for the poor” the real culprit is the power company!

It’s “The Man’s” fault

If those “meanies” would just stop shutting off the service to people who don’t pay their bills none of these thefts would be necessary according to a spokeswoman for the Michigan Welfare Rights Organization. The many fires leading to deaths that these thieves have caused aren’t their fault but have come about because the company “…has been abusing low income people, seniors and disabled persons” she added.

Currently the company “donates” $9 million to cover customers who don’t pay their bills for one reason or another. It has joined with The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW), United Way and American Red Cross to help customers and that effort has brought $150 million to help keep the lights on and gas appliances working in the region, but this isn’t enough. It never is when people have been taught by a system that nothing is their fault and the way to survive is to demand the necessities of life and more from “The Man.”

If this report furthers the idea of razing most of the decaying City of Detroit, it has reached its goal.

Stop the presses! Pigs are flying! Hell is freezing over! The same Black liberal Democrat church leaders that have always willingly broken IRS rules to allow Democrats campaign in their churches have apparently experienced their “Road to Damascus Moment.” They are now demanding that the Democrats who rule them in Chicago allow the hated (by liberals) WalMart to open a store within the limits of the Windy City.

A group of more than 200 Black church leaders representing about 100,000 people is demanding that Mayor Richard M. Daley “make it happen” and the store be opened as soon as possible on West 83rd Street in the mostly Black South Side.

Not just one WalMart but many

The president of the Englewood Political Task Force says, “We barely have fresh produce and our only option for prescriptions is a nearby Walgreens. We are stuck with what’s in the area and if we want more, we’d have to travel to other neighborhoods. We need a Walmart in Englewood and in other areas of the South Side. We want 25 Walmarts if we can get it.”

Obama’s promises not coming true

As the whole country suffers from near 10% unemployment, the rate of joblessness for Chicago’s Blacks is a staggering 44%, yet still their Democrat “massas” won’t let them shop and work in WalMart because the Democrats’ masters in Big Labor hate WalMart and vow to never allow the chain in any of the cities like Chicago that they own.

In 2006 WalMart wanted to open a Chicago store but the Marxist Democrats who run the city said no. WalMart opened a store just outside of the city limits and hired 400 Chicagoans to staff it. They paid $11.30 per hour and have not had trouble filling any openings since. At that time phony Democrat/union front groups like “Good Jobs Chicago” attacked Walmart for not paying enough to support a “middle class” lifestyle.

The minimum wage in Illinois is $8.00 and will rise to $8.25 on July 1. In 2006 the state’s minimum wage was just $6.25 barely 55% of what WalMart started paying. So many Marxists – so many lies.

It’s kickback time

In 2008 unions gave Democrats $68,272,996 and Republicans $6,022,906 meaning 92% went to Barack Obama and his Democrats. For this money Big Labor thought it was buying the un-American Card Check scheme which would force all workers to “join” a union. Although Card Check has failed the reason for its necessity has not changed. Union membership is shrinking and with that contraction union dues are falling sharply. Since 92% of all union campaign contributions go to Democrats, having unemployed union workers not paying dues, which eventually turns into Democrat war chest cash can not be tolerated.

Obama paying his bills

In February Obama quietly signed Executive Order 13502 ordering federal agencies to accept only union shop bids for construction projects over $25 million. Since only 15% of construction workers are unionized this virtually guarantees: every union construction worker a job and that nonunion workers will be banging down the doors of union halls.

The “$25 million” threshold will provide work for just enough non-union workers to give credibility to the lie that “Oh no we don’t hire ONLY union workers, why take a look at our books.”

Permanent cost overruns

In this worst economy since Democrat Franklin Roosevelt’s Administration paying union workers merely because they are union workers makes no sense. The average weekly salary for a unionize construction worker is $908.00, but the average non-union worker earns just $710.00 or 22% less.

Double whammy

Obama’s sellout will cost us more for each federal project because it slams a double edge sword into our heart. It means federal projects can only be completed with union work that always costs more, and actual free market costs have been obliterated as jobs will be regularly over bid.

Pension bomb

The average union pension program has been looted and is only 62% funded. Plans with just 80% of necessary funding are labeled “endangered” and those under 65% of funding are called “critical” by the same federal auditors who will be ordered to look the other way when these contracts are signed. Bet on this.

Tuesday’s defeat in Florida’s Special election is an important setback and can’t be ignored. Our efforts to restore America to her conservative greatness took a disheartening defeat.

It’s easy to play the “sour grapes” game saying, “Well that’s a deep blue seat anyway. Ed Lynch did a great job. Let’s move on to the Murtha and Abercrombie elections.” That denies our problems with creeping apathy and begs the question: “Are we being lulled back to sleep by the soaring poll numbers issued almost every day?” The answer seems to be yes.

Those who failed us

Listing those who failed us begins with RNC Chairman Michael Steele and the NRCC’s Pete Sessions. They sent little or nothing to Lynch, but wasted almost $1 million of our money to help Scozzafava defeat Hoffman and hand a Republican seat to a Democrat who voted for Obamacare.

Rush, Sean and others who eagerly gave out Congressional phone numbers to attack Obamacare before the fact, deserve some blame. They ignored Lynch, and his vow to repeal Obamacare. Neither interviewed Lynch and Hannity regularly referred to the Murtha Special Election as “the first special election after Obamacare” even after Dick Morris endorsed Lynch on Hannity’s show!

Finally, the finger has to be pointed at rank and file conservatives who were “rooting” for Lynch but didn’t send him a dime or volunteer to make phone calls for his campaign – lots of good that did!

Lynch’s loss says we have much work to do and have to ignore the “nice sounding” polls. What is done is done. Now it’s time start working for our candidates in Pennsylvania and Hawaii’s special elections.

Forget the polls. Work like we’re down 9 generic points.

“The only poll that counts is the one on Election Day” has never been more true.

Fed up alone means nothing

Being “fed up” with what Barack Obama is doing to destroy our country means nothing if you don’t act on your outrage. If you don’t want to live like a slave to Obama’s Administration; if you don’t want your children to be slaves to the state stand up and fight.

We don’t need cheerleaders on the sidelines. If you can read these words you can find a way to help save our country. We have just seen an opportunity to take a seat wasted. Lying to ourselves that “We’ll be okay in November, don’t worry about that” just won’t cut it. No enemy of our freedoms wearing a foreign uniform could ever come close to doing this kind of damage to our America. Why should we standby and watch while our home and family are torn apart by Marxists who care nothing about our country?

The Tax Policy Center, a Washington based think tank, has examined the tax consequences we will have heaped on us when the Democrats allow the Bush Tax Cuts to expire at the end of this year.

* Those making $75,000 who sell a stock at a profit will pay a higher capital gains tax.

*Parents who enjoy a $1,000.00 tax credit for having a child will see that benefit cut to just $500.00 next year.

*Families with incomes over $250,000 will see many itemized deductions disappear and ultimately pay more of their hard earned money. Their capital gains taxes will climb on stock dividends.

The probability that higher taxes will hit America’s hardest workers and highest earners is real because the Democrat controlled Congress will let all or most of the tax cuts passed by George Bush in 2001 and 2003 expire.

Obama’s shell game

The battle over whether to extend the tax cuts will be another reason to throw out the high taxing/spending Democrats. If this debate lasts into the lame duck session it will really be explosive. This makes winning back the House still more important.

Obama wants Congress to extend the lower tax rates for individuals earning less than $200,000 a year and families making less than $250,000 annually.
But under his plan, those individuals making more than $200,000 a year and families above $250,000 would pay higher taxes on income, capital gains and dividends.

A professor of economics from the University of Michigan wants higher taxes on “the rich” (remember “the rich” now means those making $75,000 a year) because doing so is “the safest bet.”

A professor from the University of Dayton says, “There is no economic model out there of whatever flavor — Keynesian or otherwise — that says that a tax increase is simulative… in the long run, they have to do something about the deficit because the deficits they are running are totally unsustainable. The problem with the budget is more of spending (problem) than taxing. It will not be solved until they bring spending under control.’’

Tomorrow Americans across the country will be doing two things, paying their federal taxes and gathering to protest what Barack Obama is doing to our country.
We have many reasons to be spitting mad but here’s a list of why Americans are in a sour mood today.
There aren’t any jobs to be found. Currently 5.5 people are competing for every available job.
Americans receiving food stamps are now at a record 39.4 million and a new record has been set each month since The Mistake- in-Chief took office.

Home foreclosures are at record levels and show no sign of slowing down. At the current rate another 18 million people could be homeless by year’s end.

High unemployment and high foreclosures have brought us Depression style “tent cities” where an increasing number of Americans are forced to live.

The price of basic food has climbed 6.2% since January.

The national debt has grown to the point that it is affecting everything in our lives and is driving us to join TEA Party demonstrations. Americans know unelected bureaucrats will be making decisions about their lives and we don’t like it.

The corruption of CEOs has not kept them from continuing to get bonuses and raises paid for by taxpayers’ money.

Those who are trying to protect themselves from inflation by buying precious metals are seeing evidence of market manipulations.

It has been announced that the era of easy credit is ending which will push the average America “out of the market” in many instances.

Everyday we are hearing more about the damage Obamacare will do to us and it is a major driving force in our TEA Party movement. These flames are further fanned by yesterday’s news that Obamacare has already caused 60 hospitals to cancel plans to expand.

Impending doom

These things plus Obama’s general Marxist tone, his world wide bow to every thug he can find apology tour, his weakening of our defense, his insults to Israel and the underhanded way he rammed through his healthcare scheme all have us angry and in a sour mood.

Barack Obama is driving millions of us to TEA Party events around the country because we care what this fraud in the White House is doing to our nation even if he does not.

Teamsters Local 174 based in Seattle is getting a lesson on how to play hardball from the negotiating team at Waste Management (WM). Their tough talk about striking caused WM to post a “help wanted” ad for replacements. They got 1600 applications.

The best offer

According to WM it made it’s “best, last, final offer” to settle with its garbage haulers’ union. It’s up to the union to make the next move.
Seattle is a city suffering nearly 10% unemployment and perhaps at least that much more in under employment. At least one million people will be affected by the Teamster’s strike so WM is winning the PR war.

Turning up the heat

A company spokeswoman said, “We had more than 1,600 people apply online, and today (last Friday) we’re interviewing the best 100 out of those applicants. Given the economy, a lot of people are under-employed and unemployed. So the response was very strong and … it’s a very strong group of applicants.”

A troubled union

Since 2002 members this Teamsters local have called for three decertification votes including one at WM. It’s clear the workers and their union masters are on different wave lengths. Moreover during the same period this local has been the subject of fifty unfair labor practice complaints ranging from “duty to fair representation” to “failure to sign agreement.”

The company is offering a wage increase of one dollar an hour immediately which will bring salaries to $26.29 an hour. By the final year of the contract the garbage haulers would get an annual compensation package valued at $109,553 PLUS a pension contribution of more than $15,000 each year. Additionally WM offered a signing bonus of $1,000 to each worker if the contract was in place by April 3.

The average worker in America earns about $33,000 a year. The average Seattle area wage is $13.20 an hour.

The coming victory of Waste Management in this fight begs the question: Is there a general feeling in the world of Big Labor that the party is over? The last Gallop poll on approval of unions was a dip in the cold water at just 48%, an all time low, and the window for Card Check is closing. Now there is a rumor about the departure of powerful Union thug Andy Stern from the SEIU. What does he see over the horizon?

The cut and run stunt by Bart Stupak Friday underscored the fact that things are getting worse for the Democrats. Seeing an 18 year veteran who drew 65% in 2008 and was a sure thing, leave suddenly is a symptom of deep problems for the Democrats.

There are several fundamental reasons for conservative optimism as we look toward the November elections.

Historically mid term elections produce losses for the presidents party. In Clinton’s first mid term election ( 1994) Democrats lost 52 seat and control of the House. Reagan lost 26 Republicans in 1982 which was exactly on the historic average. Senate losses average 3.4 seats in these elections.
While Clinton had a 48% and Reagan a 42% Gallup approval rating respectively at Election time Obama is already down to 45% in the same poll.

Remember: “It’s the economy stupid!?”

The same Gallup report tells us 19.9% of Americans are unemployed or under employed. People vote their wallet, this plus the accompanying data that Gallup’s “Economic confidence” rating is down sharply (-21) means the Democrats will get no help in improving their image from the Department of Labor.

The Enthusiasm gap

In 2006 and 2008 we saw the emergence of the “Broken glass” liberal voter, those who would crawl through broken glass to vote. That enthusiasm has moved to the conservatives.
The latest CNN poll shows 55% of Republicans are extremely or very enthusiastic about voting in November while just 36% of Democrats said the same. A Democrat professor commenting on these numbers added that Black turn out in a mid term election could not be expected to be near their 2008 levels.

Generic numbers

The latest Rasmussen generic poll shows Republicans holding a very strong generic ballot lead overall at 47/38, but of still more importance Rasmussen found that among Independents Republicans are up 46/26.

Intangibles

In 1994 and 2006 there were driving issues like the House Bank Scandal and the Foley revelation. Both of these seem almost quaint compared to issues like Obamacare which has continued to lose voter support since he signed it. The Cap and Trade bill is similarly disliked. These will hurt the Democrats. The timing of the Medicare/Medicaid cuts ( September and October) will do enormous damage to them as well.

The emergence of a stronger Internet to coordinate the efforts to overturn Obamacare and the Tenth Amendment to rally around are pluses not available to conservatives in the past. Both will be major weapons in the fight to regain the House.

The St. Patrick’s Day festivities meant something much different for the couple in their 80s from Minneapolis than for the other revelers at the local American Legion Post on Florida’s Treasure Coast.
Within days the couple would be returning home to a Minnesota suburb now changed forever by the huge influx of Somali immigrants whose behavior had forced them to move from their familiar neighborhood.
“They are taught how to flush,” Marie (not her real name) said. She began to describe how the émigrés are taught how to use and flush a toilet, how to turn on kitchen faucets to get hot and cold water and how to use a stove in a house built in Somalia expressly to teach immigrants to the United States how to behave in their new surroundings

Then she went on to reminiscence on her over 80 years of living in her beloved country. One of 11 children of Eastern European descent, she said, “We spoke English.” The life she and her husband lived was one of hard work, diligence and respect for our country. When she said they had to move away from the home they worked hard to pay for, her voice became sadder. Describing how the Somalis bring home their groceries in the metal carts and just discard them along the streets and sidewalks, frustrated Marie. When she asked one woman why she didn’t return the carts, she was told that someone from the store always comes along and picks them up. In that small detail, Marie revealed a totally different mindset from America’s earlier immigrants than from what she and her husband were confronting today.

Somali immigration trends in Minnesota have exponentially grown from 1990 when fewer than 5,000 residents were born in Africa, to the estimated 25,000 Somali residents by 2004 “with no signs of slowing down.” Most are Sunni Muslims.

Brought initially to the northern state by do-gooder missionaries, the Somalis readily found welcoming social services, health and educational opportunities in the mostly left leaning state’s bureaucracy. But a far darker unintended consequence of Somali immigration has reared its head in the high number of their children born in America with autism. Dr. Sanne Magnan, Minnesota state health commissioner, said a recent study seems to confirm that “Somali children in this country experience higher levels of severe autism.”

Idil Abdull, mother of an autistic child, said, “Yes, there is a problem. . .I know there are Somalis whose kids are under the bed and not taken anywhere. . .” The study concluded the Somalis were two to seven times more likely as other pupils to be in autistic classrooms. What is not included in the NEW YORK TIMES article is any estimate of the enormous cost to taxpayers of educating even one autistic child, let alone a burgeoning population of such pupils. Rightful consideration must be given to hard working American taxpayers and residents like Marie and her husband who all over this country are being forced to pay for and adjust to the inordinate strains of immigration, either legal or illegal, while liberal politicians and liberal media sources continue to ignore them.
