This is a cautionary tale of what happens when Democrats take complete control of any level of government.

Recently leaked federal court documents reveal the systematic extortion that has become a necessary part of doing business in the City of Detroit.

Based on the testimony of Synagro representative Rayford Jackson, dealing with totally Democrat controlled Detroit meant greasing the palms of anyone in Motown’s government who stepped forward.

Jackson has even reported buying the vote of former City Council member Martha Reeves 68 , who rocked in the 1960’s as Martha and the Vandellas. Now Reeves may have “Nowhere to run” to take a phrase from one of her hits.

Jackson bribed City Council members’ political consultants and even aspiring Board of Education candidates. Among their usual demands were jobs, contributions to their campaigns and favored projects.

So far Jackson who swears he put nearly $350,000 into greedy palms and four others have pleaded guilty in this probe.

His bribe bought a hug and a vote

The investigation centers on Detroit’s shake down of Synagro a sludge hauling firm. The extortion was led by former Detroit City Council President Monica Conyers (Congressman John Conyers wife) who was convicted in federal court and sentenced to a term of prison.
Synagro “won” a $1.2 billion contract by buying Conyers, Councilwoman Reeves and others.

Records show that on the same day Reeves received a $1000.00 campaign contribution from a Synagro associate, a wire tap caught Jackson bragging he had cinched the deal with Reeves who hugged him and pledged her support for his project. Twelve days later Reeves joined the 5 to 4 majority in approving the contract.

Democrats trying to do to America what they’ve done Detroit

The grim truth is Democrats have destroyed Detroit, a once great American city. Detroit’s destruction provides another reminder of the dangers of one Party rule, especially when it is Democrats who are given unchecked power anywhere. The cesspool that is Motown is still not drained. The damage these people have done will take years, if ever, to fix. If we aren’t vigilant the Democrats will make the whole country run like Detroit.

Barack Obama, the man who has continually said he “would not rest” until the “damn hole is plugged” and “everyone has a job” spent this weekend vacationing in Maine, which is about as far away from the Gulf of Mexico as any of the fifty seven states he has visited.

If he bothered to come off the golf courses up there he heard that the damage he planned to do to America’s Gulf of Mexico off shore oil industry is well underway.

Last week Diamond Offshore (DO) announced it can not wait for the Courts to finally hold the Obama Administration in contempt and order an end to its frivolous attempts to shut down all off shore oil drilling. This is an immediate move. Diamond is so determined to take Obama’s “No” for an answer it is willing to take a $31 million early termination penalty hit to be able to pack up and leave.

Diamond is sending its “Ocean Endeavor” drilling rig to the “friendlier” waters off Egypt.
Apparently it would rather take its chances off the shore of the traditional home of the Muslim Brotherhood than deal with the economic terrorism of the Obama Administration.

While the typical oil rig of this size employs something over 100 workers, Diamond’s CEO said the Houston corporation, has made it clear that the uncertainties of the off and on Obama ordered moratorium will lead to other Diamond owned rigs leaving the Gulf as well.

Nevertheless, the greater danger to the Gulf’s economic health, posed by the departure of these rigs, is to the large number of vendors providing services to the drilling crews. Vendors and other ancillary service providers can number in the thousands of workers.

Why invest in this climate?

Obama has unleashed a terror attack on American business and his treatment of the BP oil leak proves it. The situation is best summed up by a Gulf area financial analyst who asked “Are you really going to spend $5 million … getting ready to drill a well that someone would then probably block you from drilling?”

When Joseph Stalin said, “The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The People who count the votes decide everything,” he pointed the way for the Democrat takeover of our electoral process! Communists and socialists in America now have their marching orders to manipulate how our votes are counted by taking over ”Secretary of State”Offices throughout our country.

After the Bush Kerry 2004 election, ” the idea for the Secretary of State Project (SOSP) germinated when the group’s Democrat founders blamed Kerry’s defeat on then Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, a Republican who had ruled that Ohio would not count provisional ballots of properly registered voters if they had been submitted at the wrong precinct,” according to the discoverthenetworks.org web site.

If any election carries a margin of victory less than 120,000, the SOSP swings into action. Still angry over the 2000 Bush win when Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris was in charge of the ballot recount fracas, Democrats gathered relatively small amounts of funding momentum and targeted Secretary of State races in Michigan, Ohio, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Nevada, and Iowa, according to discoverthenetworks.org. All those Democrats won except in Colorado and Michigan.

“The U.S, Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit ultimately upheld Blackwell’s decision,” and the U.S. Supreme Court decided for the Bush 2000 win. This same website stresses that “very few Americans realize the importance of the SoSP duties.” It is this very stealth that wealthy fund raisers such as Democracy Alliance members George Soros and Rob Stein and other Progressives are using to take control of our electoral process.

Jennifer Brunner’s defeat of Kenneth Blackwell in Ohio illustrates the power of this stealth project.

Professional historian and co author of The Manchurian President Brenda J. Elliott, points to the Norm Coleman defeat in Minnesota and warns that it is each state’s Secretary who really holds the keys to the Oval Office and the Capitol. If the SoSP initiative goes unchallenged and if Obama grants amnesty to over 13 million potential Democrat voters, our country ceases to be government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Our everyday lives tell us our economy is in terrible shape. Knowing where the indicators are pointing downward can help us develop a personal game plan until we can throw the Marxist Democrats out and begin to rebuild our lives. Here’s a list of sixteen reasons we are in trouble.
Each of these points is backed up with a website to give you more data to help you get a clearer picture of our situation.

Unemployment is just under 10%, a16 year high with an effective rate of about 17%.

The skyrocketing number of workers unemployed for more than six months is large and growing. Unemployed people can’t spend enough to jump start our economy.

Initial unemployment claims are still too high and there is no reason to think they will come down, except as a function of workers giving up their search for work.

Private sector hiring is weakening and on the way to flattening out.

Given all of the available data America is in the worst job decline since the depression of the 1930’s.

With the end of their seemingly never ending unemployment payments, another 3.5 million people will be left with less money to spend and stimulate the economy.

In spite of historic low mortgage rates joblessness is keeping people out of the housing market, a large portion of our economy.

With May existing home sales dropping, inventories are piling up again.

The increasing inventories will make houses harder to sell which will necessarily force prices down. With prices falling many buyers will wait to see how low they go, which will drive prices down further and so on.

Car sales are falling which will cause a downward spiral for the auto industry.

Our manufacturing sector is weakening.

Construction spending is slowing.

Even China, our largest trading partner, is having economic problems.

The Economic Cycle Research Institute (ECRI) index is pointing toward a serious economic crash.

The debt we are building is mountainous and on the way to smothering any chance of recovery.

Banks are just not loaning money anymore given the federal red tape forced on them by Barack Obama.

This is how the modern Democrat/Marxist Party operates.
Because of nonstop spending, high taxes and rolling over for higher and higher union salary and benefit demands, the state of Illinois is in a $10 billion debt hole. Things are so bad in the “Land of Lincoln” that it is unable to pay its day to day bills. Illinois has stopped paying its vendors and other obligations.

No honest person who was actually trying to rescue Illinois from a debilitating default would consider taking on new spending at this point, but of course that doesn’t apply to the Democrat/Marxists who run many of our states.

Illinois’s taxpayers be damned

Illinois’s lead “drunken sailor”spending his way through the people’s money is Governor Pat Quinn. Incredibly Quinn has raised the salaries of 35 workers on his own staff 43 times over the past 15 months. At a time when the unemployment rate for Illinois is 10.4% and Chicago is involuntarily furloughing all but its most essential workers, these pay increases have averaged 11.5%. The state’s Budget Director actually got a 20% raise netting him a $24,000 increase!

In a new and total capitulation to Illinois’s unionized extortionist state employees, Governor Quinn has granted 40,000 of them a staggering 7% raise which is the front end of another 7% raise scheduled for next July 1. These raises will mean a new half-billion yearly expenditure for the state.

Same story in every Democrat run state

Illinois is a microcosm of how our Democrat/Marxists Congress acts. When Illinois’s outraged Republican Senate Minority Leader challenged these raises as the state is sinking under its massive debt, she was attacked as a “do nothing.” An AFSCME spokesman said she’d done, “nothing to help solve the state’s problems..”

In New York, Governor Paterson submitted a budget that included modest cuts in spending to try to balance the state’s books. The response from the Democrat controlled legislature was to increase spending by $600 million.

Spending our money to buy union support is what Democrats are all about and this is why no thinking person should ever vote for a Democrat. They are all the same.

Our enemies are slithering out of the woodwork. For their own selfish reasons they are putting their interests ahead of the welfare of our nation. The professional parasites in the AFL-CIO have re-issued their demands that the federal government withhold aid from Arizona’s law enforcement agencies because the state is fighting back against the illegal aliens destroying Arizona.

On Tuesday the Department of Justice brought a law suit against Arizona to stop implementation of SB 1070 its law designed to regain control of its streets which are quickly being lost to Mexican drug dealers.

In April when Governor Jan Brewer signed SB 1070 into law, the rodents in the AFL-CIO demanded their errand girl Janet Napolitano end cooperation with Arizona’s police. Now AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, a man holding office in violation of his union’s rules against invoking the 5th Amendment in a Congressional hearing, is at it again.

He said, “The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security can — and should — revoke the authority that the Department has delegated to Arizona under the 287(g) program. Without that authority, Arizona will not be able to implement misguided laws such as SB1070.”

The Catholic Diocese of Houston as well

The Catholic Diocese of Houston used the July 4th weekend to unveil its support for illegal aliens. Using rank and file Catholics as a captive audience (Catholics are commanded to attend Mass each Sunday and therefore had no option to walkout) the Bishop of Houston directed his priests to push his liberal amnesty talking points during their homilies.

The AFL-CIO’s aims are clear: sneak more “undocumented Democrats” into America to “vote” us into socialism. Why the church would do this is not clear. “Render to Cesar what is Cesar’s; render to God what is God’s” comes to mind. Nowhere is there any commandment in Catholic doctrine forcing ordinary non clergy Catholics into poverty or harm’s way as would certainly follow an unchecked flood of illegal aliens.

If the Catholic Church picks criminals over her members she will place herself in genuine peril. Those that hate the Church will only have to watch her demise.

If the Catholic Church is destroyed here in America the worldwide Catholic Church would find it very hard to survive. The Bishop of Houston ought to consider that before he involves the Church in this matter again.

Anyone who has attended a TEA Party event has been in the presence of real patriots. Looking around you see the face of America. You see people who love our country and will fight to restore and defend the freedoms they understand do not come cheaply. What you don’t see are whinny “progressives” who want to tear down America and remake her into a socialist gulag.

With rare exceptions you don’t see “academics” or Hollywood types. The people standing shoulder to shoulder with you are men and women you might meet at a Home Depot on Saturday afternoon or sit next to in church on Sunday.

A new Gallup poll shows us all of these observations are right on target.

When the pollsters asked the question: “How patriotic are you? Would you say extremely patriotic, very patriotic, somewhat patriotic, or not especially patriotic?” The answers certified everything we thought about the Leftist dregs we are constantly fighting to keep our freedom and liberties.

The survey asked a random sample of over 1000 adults how they would characterize themselves on their own patriotism.

While the overall 76% who called themselves “extremely or very” patriotic was less than what we would want, just 6% called themselves “not especially patriotic.”

Gallup found patriotism levels are highest among Republicans and conservatives and noted a 24% increase in patriotic fervor since 1999.

Liberals were the smallest group represented among those in the “Extremely” patriotic category.

We’re right about Democrats as well

Members of both major Parties and various sub groups described their level of patriotism as follows.

Republicans self identifying as “extremely” patriotic were 52%; while just 20% of Democrats could say the same.

This spells trouble for Democrats

The demographic groups most likely to vote Republican are the groups at the top of the list of those calling themselves “extreme patriots.” The number of liberals, Democrats and even Moderates in this category has fallen since 2005.

In this time period the frequently voting 65 and over group is now 19 points higher; conservatives are 15% more patriotic and Republicans are 17% more “extremely” patriotic.

This year more than ever in our lifetime patriotism will drive voters to the polls. Coupled with their big advantage in enthusiasm, it is a very good bet that Republicans will substantially outnumber Democrats at the polls this year.

Pledge your support to America. Pray for our nation’s wellbeing and stand up for your country. America needs you now more than ever. We are fighting powerful foreign AND domestic enemies.

In cooperation with Mexico, Homeland Security has recently resumed a program to ship apprehended illegal Mexican aliens back to Mexico. The program called the Mexican Interior Repatriation Program (MIRP) was started by the Bush administration in 2004.

The MIRP was started as a response to the growing flow of illegal Mexican aliens pouring over the southern border. Of course we are paying for these “repatriations” ($71 million) but so far we have kicked out about 92,000 illegals and shipped them back to Mexico City.

Reconquista?

Since the 1970s LaRaza, an international Marxist group, whose name means “the race” in Spanish, has deluded itself and its followers with talk of restoring and recreating “a mythical Aztec homeland called Aztlan.” LaRaza’s scheme is to carry out its own program of “reconquista,” copying the legitimate reconquista by Spain hundreds of years ago.

Originally the word reconquista referred to the ongoing effort of Spain and Portugal to kick the Muslim hordes out of Spain and pre-separation Portugal. In the early 8th century North African Moors who were Muslim raiders took large portions of the Iberian Peninsula and called it Al-Andalus Province which is what today’s Muslim legal immigrants to Spain and Portugal call the counties they are in. Spain’s successful prosecution of re-conquering their land took 800 years and ended with her 1492 victory at Granada.

The Mexican drenched LaRaza is dedicated to the destruction of our country through procreation and sending their “Reconquistadores” throughout the states they have targeted to build their new Hispanic socialist nation.
With help from Congressional Democrats LaRaza believes they can re-conquer our Southwestern states and reclaim a portion of America to establish a new Aztlan made wealthy with confiscated American resources.
La Raza’s “warriors” intend to “re-take” all or part of California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada Texas, and Colorado.

Save for their ubiquitous drive-by attacks these “re- conquistadores” think they can do this without firing a shot because we won’t fight back.

Who is at the center of this decade’s old plan to cap residential air, and then trade its carbon footprints? Glenn Beck says, “Barack Obama was the one on the board of the Joyce Foundation that secured the initial funding for this project.”

Al Gore and other founders of Generation Investment Management, a London company, along with Goldman Sachs were investors in the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCEx), the Obama driven project. Incidentally, how big is the carbon footprint of Gore’s newly purchased 9 million dollar mansion in Montecito, CA? Will he split it with Tipper?
Did his purchase coincide with the profits he made when CCEx folded into ICE, the International Climate Exchange?

The now dead Carlton Bartels invented a system to trade residential carbon credits. His widow sold it to Franklin Raines, the CEO of the Fannie Mae meltdown. The day after the Democrats took control of Congress, Nov. 7, 2006, the patent was approved, according to journalist Barbara Hollingsworth.

“Fannie Mae, who is congressionally mandated to ‘make housing more affordable,’ is poised to reap billions on a system that has nothing to do with housing except for that it would make housing costs go up,” Beck says. He recently revealed Fannie Mae also holds patents on energy locking devices which would allow government bureaucrats to shut off electricity to individual homes deemed to be using too much juice.

Getting back the “key” or turn-back-on device could become a bureaucratic nightmare while our private citizens sit in the dark and return to a third world existence in what was once the world’s most developed country!

It may be interesting to note that CCEx which has merged with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) “[was] a veritable rat’s nest of cronyism.” The largest shareholder was Goldman Sachs. Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley was an honorary chairman,” according to reporter Judy McLeod.

Beck also stresses that at least six of these investors, board members and former employees of Goldman and other firms linked to CCEx now are on Obama’s advisory teams.
What is really hard to take is the inveterate guile of politicians and their advisors, who apparently have devised and planned for years to create these CCEx, style looting schemes and are now attempting to make its carbon trade tax our law.

The American people stand to lose an estimated $2,000 to $4,000 per household on this carbon trading scheme while an apparatus of green giants stand to reap huge profits on the backs of us hard working, unsuspecting citizens. Will this huge plank in Obama’s socialist agenda for the U.S. (and us) be signed into our law while we sit quietly and wait for our porch lights to go out?

The bill has now come due again. It must be paid or our freedoms will die.

Pledge your allegiance to America. Pray that God will show us how to save our nation from the Marxist wolves. Our country needs each of us now more than ever.

In his Gettysburg Address, during the darkest days of the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln found the precise words to describe America’s dire situation. Here they are. Hear them, and savor them.

“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

“Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

“But, in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate—we cannot consecrate—we cannot hallow—this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom— and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

On July 4, 1776 the men who met in Philadelphia to craft a new nation agreed to pay the price for freedom. The bill has now come due again. It must be paid or our freedoms will die.

Today we are in a second Civil War/American Revolution. We’re not fighting it on a battlefield with guns and bayonet’s but with law books and computers in courtrooms and with our ballots.

Our precious freedoms were purchased for us with the blood sweat and tears of those who have fought and died for us over the past 235 years. If we stand by and watch them being taken away we may never get it back.

If we lose this battle we will see government of the people, by the people, for the people, perish from the earth forever.
