Is Notre Dame embarrassed by Catholic teachings? Funding gay “marriage” student trip says “Yes”

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

If you plunged your family into hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt to send your son or daughter to Notre Dame thinking your hard earned money would get your child a truly Catholic education this will disappoint and infuriate you.

If the knot in your stomach from Barack Obama’s selection as last spring’s commencement speaker is just now beginning to loosen up hang on to your blood pressure medicine here comes another anti Catholic stunt from Father John Jenkins the school’s president.
Notre Dame, the University of Our Lady mind you, has used student organization funds to finance a trip for five of its students to Washington DC for a rally supporting Gay “marriage” a practice which directly violates the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Apparently Father Jenkins feels he hasn’t made his hatred for the teachings of the Catholic Church clear enough. Having a commencement speaker who supports allowing miracle abortion surviving infants to die in a broom closet because abortion is more sacred to him than life, wasn’t sick and perverted enough for Father Jenkins.

Sticking his finger in your eye and laughing

The Obama stunt should have signaled Notre Dame’s surrender of any claim to being a Catholic university. The little school in South Bend is now no more Catholic than U. Wisconsin at Madison.

Father Jenkins must be starting his own religion. He is certainly close to being recognized as the head of a “Jenkinsist” Catholic church that caters to the secular world while making fools of those who support his school.

Father Patrick J. Reilly, President of the Cardinal Newman Society challenged this grotesque move with a penetrating question, “What university seeking to reassure families of its Catholic identity would pay for students to attack the family and oppose Catholic teachings on marriage?”

Even the so-called “Progressives” know better

Members of Notre Dame’s Progressive Student Alliance (PSA) applied to the Student Activities Office for the necessary funding for the trip. The PSA president was shocked that the “pro forma” request was approved and observed, “The fact that we were University-approved was surprising but it was a wonderful surprise. The University hasn’t always been entirely receptive in the past.” Apparently even the PSA president recognized this was a violation of Roman Catholic teaching and was “surprised” it was approved. Too bad Father Jenkins didn’t feel the same way.

Is Father Jenkins starting his own religion, a sort of “roll- your-own” Catholicism that Obama’s thugs will make into the face of the American Catholic Church?

This day in history October 22

1836 Sam Houston is inaugurated as the first President of the Republic of Texas.

Obama’s Jenkinsist Catholics scheme

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

Adolph Hitler had his Vichy French and boot licking quislings throughout Nazi Europe, but he was always wary of and hated Catholics because they refused to knuckle under to his lies. Hitler was right about Catholics. It was Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, a member of Germany’s Roman Catholic nobility, who led the effort to kill him in July 1944.

To counter the Catholic Church Hitler actually created a Nazi Church and many non Catholic Christian Churchmen went along with the sham.

Barack Obama is many things but not a fool. He recognizes the real Catholic Church, whose members voted against him, is the last remaining obstacle to his Marxist style total control of our lives.

He can not directly shut down the real Catholic Church. That would be a time consuming, counterproductive losing proposition and frankly quite unnecessary.

Obama is way too smart to stir up resistance among real Catholics with an overt move toward shutting down the real Catholic Church.
He can’t take over the real Catholic Church so he’s starting his own Church, the Jenkinsist Catholic Church. He knows the media will turn its back on the real Catholic Church and always go to Jenkinsist Catholics for comments knowing what answers they will give.

Obama’s Jenkinsist Catholics will claim to be Catholic just as Frances Kissling of Catholics For a Free Choice claims to be a real Catholic. Eventually the media will only interview Jenkinsist bishops, and real Catholic bishops will be ignored.

The beauty of it all is breathtaking. The more real Catholic bishops demand adherence to real Catholicism the more Jenkinsist Catholics will appear. It will be like trying to pour the ocean into a hole on the beach.

Obama’s actions/ appointments make him the most anti real Catholic president ever. More on this tomorrow.

Catholic bishops should use Notre Dame as a “bloody shirt” to force Jenkinsist Catholics to “choose” a side

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

Now that the sound of the standing ovation given to Barack Obama at the grotesque charade in South Bend has died down it’s time for reflection and regrouping.

While over 75 of America’s Catholic bishops condemned Notre Dame for its honoring of our pro abortion, pro POST birth disposal President, that’s little more than 1/3 of these men whose mission is guarding and growing Roman Catholicism in America, the world’s most important Catholic country.

What will these few faithful bishops do now, speak out or remain silent to go along/ get along?

Catholics and pro lifers of every persuasion are waiting for answers.

It’s time for faithful Catholic bishops to use the Notre Dame scandal as a rallying point; a “bloody shirt.”

The “bloody shirt” concept may have sinister connotations, but that actually makes it a perfect rallying cry for calls for a new respect for Catholic teachings on life.

Since whatever is said by the faithful bishops about this scandal will be twisted distorted and misquoted anyway, why not give Father Jenkins and his secular humanist media supporters something to really quote?

Calling Obama’s speech a “bloody shirt” and using it as a line in the sand to force Jenkinsist Catholics to decide their own fate will keep the issue alive and make more people choose a side.

The “bloody shirt” of Notre Dame could ignite a media “righteous indignation” like the one that drove them to repeat the “Willie Horton” story over and over until all of voting America had heard of it and decided against Dukakis.

This opportunity must not be missed by America’s Catholic bishops. Catholics must be compelled to think through the meaning of being “pro choice” when a monster is in the White House. Americans want to choose life, the bishops must help them.

Jenkins’ supporters

Off campus one of Father Jenkins’ fans, a member of “Abortion on demand”, made this statement, “If women don’t have a right to decide if they have a child, women aren’t free. We need to expand abortion access and abortion rights and lift the stigma. Fetuses are not babies and women are not incubators.”

Certainly Father Jenkins would not be proud to stand with her, but with his record who knows?

“It’s the infanticide stupid!” AP lies by omission on why real Catholic’s don’t want Obama at Notre Dame.

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

We knew they would come. The lies and half truths about Barack Obama’s planned speech at next Sunday’s graduation ceremony at Notre Dame are intensifying. Beth Fouhy of the AP brings us the latest pack of lies half truths and omissions. She has produced yet another lock step bouquet to be placed on the alter of secular humanism which can not be allowed to stand unchallenged.

Fouhy writes Catholics and pro-lifers are angry at Notre Dame’s invitation to Obama because;

“They cite his support for abortion rights and embryonic stem cell research, and his repeal of a policy that denied federal dollars to international relief organizations that provide abortions or abortion-related information. They remain angry with Obama’s support for legislation that would prohibit state and local governments from interfering with a woman’s right to obtain an abortion.”

What this cynical cheerleader for the liberals’ culture of death has conveniently omitted is that we recognize Obama’s inherent evil proved by his vigorous efforts to pass a law instructing Illinois’s hospitals to starve to death BORN INFANTS who miraculously survived botched abortions.

This is our core objection and Fouhy knows it. She omitted this gruesome truth to portray us as unsophisticated simpletons unaccustomed to dialogue in “the real world” of the San Francesco progressive.

Fouhy knows she could not write about the real Obama. She knows a description of his bill mandating infanticide of BORN INFANTS who’s lives “violated the intention of the abortion” would never be printed.

Of course abortions are a daily evils to be fought; of course embryonic stem cell research is a “slippery slope” way for liberal ogres to kill more innocent infants, but cynically elevating them to parity with our outrage over infanticide is intellectually dishonest and morally bankrupt.

Calling Biden “an observant Catholic” is laughable. Just look at the truth. No one who has been barred from receiving Holy Communion in his own diocese, as Joe Biden has, can in any sense of the phrase be described as “an observant Catholic” This is only true in the liberal fantasy world where the media is invited to attend the wedding of a Pope.

Rasmussen or Gallup: Who’s wrong on Catholic support for Obama’s speech at Notre Dame?

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

The number of Catholics who don’t want Barack Obama to speak at Notre Dame’s May 17th graduation ceremony is growing and has now reached the tipping point.

A new Rasmussen survey shows that by more than 2 to 1 (60% to 25%) Catholics don’t want Obama to speak at Notre Dame. Only 19% had no opinion. Catholics know the issue and don’t want him there.

Because of the particulars of this situation it’s safe to assume Catholics object to Obama’s appearance at “America’s Catholic University” because of his grotesque position on POST BIRTH disposal of infants who miraculously survived abortions. You don’t get 60% of Catholics objecting to a run of the mill liberal Democrat abortion supporter. Democrat support for abortion is a given.

This isn’t just about abortion or the laughable suggestion that Catholics don’t want Obama speaking at Notre Dame because he supports “stem cell research.” Instead Catholics are taking a well considered step toward confronting the evil Obama represents.

At a rate of 60% Catholics don’t want Obama to receive an honorary Law degree from Notre Dame. That’s more than twice the number who approve of the honor.

When juxtaposed, Rasmussen’s and Gallup’s new poll results make one wonder who’s right and who’s wrong about Catholic attitudes toward Obama.

Gallup’s new poll found that 67% of Catholics favored Barack Obama. This begs two questions: what if any issues did Gallup’s Catholics have in mind when two out of three expressed approval of Obama? Moreover, since November what issues, that Catholics care about, has Obama been good on that would explain the increased Catholic approval ratings from 54% to 67%?

Someone’s research is faulty. Someone has this issue seriously wrong. As May 17th gets closer we will see who has it right.

Based on the more than 340,000 petition signatures collected by those against Obama’s Notre Dame speech, the smart bet is that Rasmussen has it right.

This is a growing problem for Father Jenkins and his school. While Obama will do his damage and walk away largely untouched, Notre Dame will suffer for this decision for years to come. It will never again be seen as “America’s Catholic University” by many people, some of whom will be alums who will no longer donate. In the end Notre Dame will be left with its reputation in tatters and its fundraising goals ever so much harder to reach.

Don’t bet on Barack Obama being classy enough to back out with some transparent excuse. He is after all, no George Bush.

Notre Dame: The Catholic Potemkin village; nice on the outside fake on the inside

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

The phony hypocritical apologists helping Notre Dame build its “Catholic Potemkin village” have had their way long enough. Now it’s time for the truth.

As we draw closer to May17, when Barack Obama will speak at Notre Dame’s graduation ceremony the school’s secular apologists are turning up their barrage of lies and misinformation.

They want to talk about phony issues not Obama’s murderous intentions toward innocent babies. We’re supposed to forget Notre Dame knows full well what’s in Obama’s evil heart.

Contrary to these apologists’ self delusions, we are not against Obama because he is Black or necessarily because of his position on stem cells.

Obama’s love of abortion is the issue we’re willing to fight over even if it has become all too acceptable at too many so called Catholic colleges.

The heart of the problem is Obama’s support of POST birth abortion; the murder of babies labeled inconvenient and expendable after their miraculous survival of an abortion.

Regardless of Notre Dame’s rhetoric their invitee is a Mengele-like creature who would order the death of “inconvenient” babies and Father Jenkins fully understands this.

Obama proposed letting these babies die in a broom closet agonizing from hunger and thirst because their survival would violate “the original intent” of an abortion.

This is a clear contradiction of every fiber of Catholic doctrine. It is obvious cooperation with evil and a shining example of giving scandal to impressionable people. It gives powerful ammunition to those who would destroy the Catholic Church.

This travesty will go on and it begs the question: In return for his royal visit will Obama rub Notre Dame’s face in the mud and demand religious items be covered as he did at Georgetown? If so Notre Dame, the Catholic Potemkin village, will deserve it. But we won’t.

Since it is a clear skill of the Left to recognize and take advantage of every opening it sees, one has to ask will Obama demand Father Jenkins and his fellow priests wear “proper business attire” during his “royal visit?”

Enough is enough. Fawning secular media pieces about how wonderful it is that the 45% of Notre Dame’s Faculty who are not Catholic “support the mission of the Church” are laughable on their face.

At best these people can be expected to be neutral toward Church doctrine. “Supportive” is a big stretch. Question: Are these the faculty who are telling students to disregard Obama’s murderous intentions? Why would anyone think otherwise? Then again maybe it’s the priests who are teaching students this secularist message.

At Notre Dame it is no longer clear.

Notre Dame: dying of moral relativism? Father Jenkins: Catholic doctrine is never relative!

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

Last Friday Joe Scarbough interviewed a 21 year old woman who is a Notre Dame senior. She was angry at the “hypocrisy of those who were trying to pressure Notre Dame out of having President Obama speak at our graduation ceremony.” She continued, “When George Bush (at Notre Dame that would be the EVIL George Bush) spoke here in 2001 no one complained about his support for capital punishment!” Then, apparently realizing the weakness of her argument, she backtracked with, “I know they [abortion and capital punishment] aren’t the same, but they’re both against the principles of the church.” The moral relativism she was taught in South Bend came shinning through.

Her words ripped the mask off Notre Dame. They told us how Notre Dame relies on moral relativism to navigate inconvenient contradictions between Catholic doctrine and the secular standards Notre Dame seems to prefer.

Father John Jenkins, Notre Dame’s president has highlighted his own moral relativism with his sad and embarrassing statements about relying on a group of Canon lawyers for clarity in this situation. It won’t wash. Father Jenkins and Notre Dame have fooled themselves into thinking they have fooled us, but they’re wrong.

To fight the Pope, Henry had his stooge bishops “clarify his situation”, but in the end true Catholics never acknowledged his make believe church. Today’s real Catholics don’t buy this line either.

Father Jenkins is dragging Notre Dame down a dark ugly ally where sucking up to a supporter of brutally murdering inconvenient miracle abortion survivors is now more important than Catholic doctrine. He can say what he wants. He can use Georgetown as his model (didn’t that turnout embarrassing?) but Canon 915 and 916 say you can’t cooperate with manifest evil, even if it arrives to the tune of “Hail to the Chief.”

Father Jenkins’ obstinate promotion of scandal is very troubling and very unbecoming of a Catholic priest. He is giving scandal to young impressionable Catholics across the country and he is dead wrong on this issue. He ought to stop this sellout and recall why he became a priest. Did he offer his life so an abortionist could use him as a pawn to promote the culture of death?

While our young friend in South Bend might not believe this, there are tens of millions of Catholics who are angry and disappointed at the hypocrisy she is displaying in her claim that capital punishment and murdering defenseless “defective” born infants are in anyway interchangeable.

This young woman stated that 97% of Notre Dame’s graduating seniors are in favor of overlooking the manifest evil of Barack Obama and welcoming him as a great man. Isn’t that a sad commentary on how far away from Catholic teachings Notre Dame has drifted?

It is indeed interesting that the University of Arizona, where Barack Obama will also speak, has flatly rejected calls to grant him an honorary doctoral degree because he has not accomplished anything.

Send back our Notre Dame gear: if Father Jenkins won’t listen to us maybe he’ll listen to his wallet

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

If Notre Dame won’t withdraw its invitation to Barack Obama the champion of abortion, Catholics and others of goodwill have to withdraw support for Notre Dame. It’s time to take direct action and let our feelings be known.

Father Corby’s dream of a Catholic college dedicated to Our Lady as a place where young Catholic men and now women could receive a Catholic education is obviously no longer a Catholic school.

I’m tired of phonies masquerading as Catholics and aiding enemies of the Church with backstabbing stunts like this. Since Notre Dame wants to suck up to the secular world, let the secular world support it. Let’s have nothing more to do with them and send Father Jenkins the ND gear we’ll never wear again.

ND gear should be sent to Father John I. Jenkins at 400 Main Building Notre Dame, IN 46556.

We don’t need to show support for a football team. We need a Catholic university to turn out educated Catholics strong in their faith.

Inviting Obama sends a terrible message to the young people sent to Notre Dame for spiritual nourishment and intellectual growth. Without spiritual nourishment what’s left is a secular school unworthy of our support.

To do the most good and make the most impact send your new or laundered ND gear via return receipt requested mail. This will make a big impact as packages pile up. Once you have your package ready write out a short polite note letting Father Jenkins know how disappointed you are at the death of Notre Dame. Wait a few days then phone Father Jenkins at 574 6313903 to make sure your package was received.

If Notre Dame doesn’t want to be Catholic, that’s fine, but let’s have no more pretending it’s more than a secular maze of buildings.

Notre Dame gets a very large portion of its operating budget from the sales of items with the famous ND logo on them. It is possible to buy “Notre Dame” everything from Tee shirts and windbreakers to notebooks and even Bar B Q sauce. Hitting them in their wallet is the only move we have left. They have already had more than 250, 000 protesters register their complaints and nothing has happened.

Catholic colleges are supposed to be the “little black box” of the Church in America. As such they supposed to be places where things are done properly. Instead they have turned secular and become exactly the opposite of what they should be.

I’m sending my old ND Tee shirt this afternoon. I’m sorry it came to this but we can’t let the people who run THE Catholic University of America, our Catholic University throw its reputation away without a fight.

Once this catches on we’ll start getting attention to our cause and maybe more somnambulant Catholics will come to understand what is happening at our un-Catholic Catholic schools.

Notre Dame’s invitation to Obama: The beginning of an American Catholic Church schism?

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

As children in Catholic grade schools we were taught the word “schism.”

Schisms were explained as splits in the Catholic Church which were sad but necessary evolutions occurring because not all Catholics could be expected to remain loyal to Roman Catholic doctrine.

The major schism in Church history occurred about 1050 AD, and brought about the Eastern Orthodox Churches.

When Luther and Henry brought about their schisms the Catholic Church was disappointed, but survived and moved on.

Given the steady decline in the number of “Catholic” Catholic colleges in America and the growing hostility toward Catholic doctrine at so many “Catholic” schools the stage may be set for an American schism.

The original aims and purpose of a Catholic education have been so subverted at so many schools claiming to be Catholic, it’s hard to find at Catholic Catholic college.

This fact begs the question: Why should Catholics support schools whose focus is teaching Catholic doctrine is arcane backwards and even evil?

Simply put: We shouldn’t.

Notre Dame’s invitation to Barack Obama, the most pro death president in history, suggests a de facto schism may already be underway and this could be a good thing.

If “Catholic” schools like Notre Dame don’t want to live Catholicism let them go. Let’s have no more pretenses. Let’s have no more hand wringing alumni moaning as they write another check.

Phony “Catholic” schools are wasting Catholic donations that should instead go to supporting seminaries in countries where the Church is growing.

In our big cities Catholic grammar schools are closing every year because there are no Catholics left to support them. Why should these phony Catholic colleges be exempt from reality? They lick the boots of the secular world let the secular world support them.

If this is a schism so be it.

In more than five dozen schools calling themselves “Catholic colleges” there are active Gay and Lesbian clubs supported with institutional funds. Holding aside any judgment of homosexuals as fellow strugglers and seekers of the way to heaven, one has to ask if these same schools would willingly support a Swindlers Club or a Swingers Club. Each group would be promoting sinful conduct, but we know they never would allow these clubs on campus let alone support them.

As just another Catholic sitting in a pew, I’m sick of these phonies quislings attacking my Church. There is no rule saying the Catholic Church has to maintain schools. The Church wasn’t founded to insure the CYO and Bingo people have a place to meet or “liberation theology” has a home.

In a series of pacts with eventual destruction probably hundreds of millions of our dollars are going to support Catholic grammar schools populated by students who are not Catholics. These schools present a fraudulent picture of whether or not a local school is meeting its mission of teaching Catholic children. In some schools Muslim youngsters fill seats that would go unused if not for these shams. Lets close down more of these places and instead build centers for teaching Catholic doctrine at CCDs across the country.

There is a shortage of priests to work in parishes. Let’s abandon these un-Catholic Catholic colleges and grade schools to the secular world and reassign the priests in them to parish work and their real purpose – saving souls. Most of these men are content to work at schools because they have concluded they like being a priest but not doing the work of a Catholic priest.

In far too many cases these fraudulent “Catholic” schools have become obstacles to the only purpose of the Roman Catholic Church which is showing us the way to salvation. Anything which impedes our journey should be removed. I say: Catholic Catholic schools or no Catholic schools.
